The Positive aspect of the social networks:
Social networks is a good means of keeping in touch with people we don't see often; like friends who live abroad or old friends. It's pratical because it allows us to share pictures, videos and messages with people from all around the world. It's also an easy way to exchange opinions and discuss instantly with friends.
The Negative aspect of the social networks:
However, I think that we should be careful with the use of social networks, especially with the messages we post on the net; like personal information and compromising information that should be kept private. More and more employers look at the Facebook account of the applicants when they are hiring new people.
Mr Obama said in an article of the Telegraph that whatever you do will be pulled up later somewhere in your life. We should also pay attention to how often we use these social networks; because many people become addicted and the danger is that we loose the personal contact with other people. Several psychologists have declared that it's becoming a serious problem and they advice us to think about the way we us the social networks.
There has been serious examples when young people have used Facebook incorrectly and private events became visible for everybody: like in Holland, where thousands of teenagers turned up for a private birthday party.
Another example is a young girl who committed suicide because she was builied and harassed on Facebook:
Finally I think that social networks are very pratical and useful but we need to be careful and to protect our privacy it's important to make our account ONLY available to friends and people we know well. It's important to verify who we accept as friends because unfortunatly there are people with bad intensions who use false identities.
