"Social Networks? Pfff... just a fad..."

            A network is a set of elements which are connected together. The author of the first video said that the networks get things done: Indeed, nowadays, networks permit people to communicate together, to move from a place to another, or to get electricity or water.

            The ones on I am going to talk today are the social networks. Since several years, people communicate together; today people mainly communicate to meet friends, a girlfriend or a boyfriend, but also to find a job, a new good restaurant, or new fashion shoes... If you are looking for a job, maybe a friend of your friend could find one for you: this is the social network, you communicate with people you don’t know by you friends. Nowadays, social networks have been developed because people can now communicate on the internet. I just think these social networks are here to help and support people in their communications: if you want to meet friends, for example find the friend of your friend that you have meet at the mall one hour earlier, you now can find this friend. Social networks are the new mouth of people; we can take for example Facebook and twitter in the social domain and Linked in the recruitment domain. Social networks are a new way to communicate; you can communicate for friendship, information

, services, products, jobs...  Social networks want people to stay together easily; it's a new way to communicate, staying at home. You will see in the second video that the author said that the social media is not a fad; it's a fundamental shift in the way to communicate.

          

            This video shows the importance of social networks nowadays: so much at an economic point than a social point:

            -Social networks are the first activity on the web.

            -Facebook is the first social network, getting 200 million users in less than a year. It's more than many other economics success like TV or Radio.

            -Nowadays 80% of the companies use social networks for recruitment. 95% using "Linked in".

Social networks also permit people to get what they are looking for easily

            The author said that we will no longer search for products and services, they will find us via social networks: indeed the economy of the 21st century is partly based on social networks.

           

           

            Erick Qualman said that we don't have the choice on whether we do social media; the question is how well we do it. Indeed social networks present danger, and people should take precautions about security, personal information, friends, language and link. The social networks are an important key in our economy and the social and economic life of users. Now do you still think social network should be forbidden?  Do you still think these are just a fad and it would disappear in few years?
