cyber-bullying

How Facebook can it cause suicide?

Nowadays, social networks are part of the daily lives of all teenagers. Indeed every day, they connect, talk to their friends, and publish lots of photos, comments. What's wrong? Indeed to this side, social networks can stay in contact with our loved ones, even when they are away. Yes, but a lot of people do not have the same goals, they use social networks to insult, criticize, and the same terrorized people.

Take an example. Amanda Todd is a typical teenager, she was 15 years old when she puts an end to her days. She was the victim of harassment on Facebook. Then she posts a video on YouTube in which recounts his experiences, and ask for help, but nobody came to his aid.(see video) Adolescents insult on the social networks and compromising pictures are published on the internet. And even years later, and after several moves, it is still pursued, groups were created to encourage it to end its days.

Today, many people pay tribute to Amanda Todd, but at the time, no one was there for her, and social networks have made his life a true nightmare.

Indeed, even if the video Anonymous claims to have found the culprit, the authorities do not want to condemn this man without valid proof. (Photo attached) The stranger who harassed Amanda Todd is not found and the photos remain on the internet for a long time after the death of this girl.

Social networks are not only good sides. They must be used wisely and always be careful. Pay attention to what we can say and think we can touch people. Be cautious in your publications.
Remember that each publication of your hand remains etched on the internet and any of your actions or words can be used against you.

I think we should warn young people from the dangers of social networks. As Obama said, we all make errors but putting them on Facebook, they can cause problems for the future.

Do not think that it only happens to others.

  1. I know this story and I think that unfortunately she did not deserve this. I fully agree with you : it is necessary to think before you post something.
But I don't understand why the police did not take into account the culprit that the anonymous have found.

  2. They do not want to take the risk of convicting an inoncent. They did not have enough evidence, they preferred closed the case. Like what social networks can sometimes be dangerous, you never know who you may fall.
